Visit: National Museum of Korea

I made a trip to the national museum of korea yesterday.

First impression:
I didn't think it look very grand considering my experiences in europe and their museums. (Purely personally opinion). It's had a big but stony feeling to it.

As I entered the museum, I realised that I might have been the first visitor for the day. There's literally NO ONE in the museum. maybe it's because I visited in the morning. The museum opens at 9am and I arrived about 9.45am and it's not crowded. Well, compared to lourve museum in paris (sorry to compare), I had to queue to get into the lourve museum even when I went in the morning.

However, it's got a pretty sight of the Seoul tower. I think they strategically did this. Nevertheless, good job as I was pretty awe.

There are 3 floors of displays to enjoy. Unfortunately, due to time constraint (thanks to school, >.<) I had only gone through the displays of the first 2 floors. Well, it's not possible to remember everything you see at the museum. I always like to have some key memories or information I learnt for a trip. So, here are some.

1) There are different types of materials and designs at different layers of the roof.

 2)  According to korean folklore, those who died young before having children lives as spirit and bring misfortune to the village. So people make these figurines to calm their spirits

3) seriously beautiful cases for brushes. I'm not sure what kind of brushes.

4) Symbols/Animals that have different meanings in a painting. Quite similar to the chinese culture. Best one would be - cat = 70 year old man!!
